BIG GIRL ROOM

Here are pics of Merrin's official BIG GIRL ROOM!! Now...if we can get her actually sleeping in that big girl bed, life will be grand! Merrin's new room is almost complete except for some decorative touches, wall art and a much needed bed skirt which Grammy is in the process of making (to match the curtains). I have to send out a HUMONGOUS thank you to both Grammy, Mamaw and Papaw because they definitely contributed to this project. Keith and I took care of the bed and table & chair set but in addition to making the bed skirt, Grammy graciously helped out by sanding and painting the dresser. Mamaw and Papaw gave Merrin the beautiful bookcase which Merrin LOVES! Merrin is obsessed with her books and although I know the bookcase will rarely stay clean, we are working on the concept of putting the books away after we are finished with them.

Merrin has been talking about her big girl bed ever since we started her room but I don't think she understands that she has to actually SLEEP in it! We were originally planning on moving Merrin to her new bed before Christmas but then realized we would be staying several nights with family and that this might disrupt her transition so now that we are home I assume tonight or tomorrow will be our first attempt at getting Merrin to sleep in her big bed! I will certainly keep you all updated but PLEASE say some prayers for my sanity!!! Once Merrin is officially sleeping in her new room I can start working on the nursery and making it more "boy-ish". I'll try to post some video clips of Merrin climbing into her new bed although my video skills have been lacking lately. On a side note...I will post Christmas pictures soon! We had a wonderful Christmas holiday and I hope that all of you did as well!
