Three Months

Here is a short video clip of Elliott at three months old...you might want to turn down your volume a bit because Merrin is singing "rock a bye baby" very loudly in the background! Elliott is starting to full on laugh now and I wish that I could get this on video because it is hilarious...I'll keep trying! Here is our little sweetheart...(its a short one because my memory card was full).

Obsession

So these were my past Mother's Day goodies...beautiful lilies from Merrin and Elliott and the complete Twilight saga from my adoring husband. Can I just say that I am officially obsessed...with Twilight that is, not the lilies, although they are beautiful, just not as intriguing as vampires and werewolves (PS...my mom and sister think I'm crazy)! I'm almost half way through all four books and am anxiously awaiting New Moon to hit the theatres :)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

I wanted to wish a very Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful Mother's out there. I hope you all had a very special day yesterday. Also, my heart goes out to all my friends who are trying to become mothers, our prayers are with you.
Keith and I are so very lucky to have been blessed with such wonderful Christian mothers. I love you both!

BJs

I just had to share this story but its a short one, I promise. Its a classic Merrin story and I have to say its one of the funniest moments I've had with Merrin and probably the first of many more to come. I have a feeling though that I'll remember this one for awhile. To some of you it might not be that funny but I guess you had to have been there...

So...Merrin, Elliott and I decide to make a quick trip to BJs this past week for some much needed laundry and dish detergent as well as some other things that I knew I would buy but knew even more I didn't need. As we walk into the store Merrin sees the "race car" shopping cart and insists that she ride in it so I reluctantly take both Elliott and Merrin out of our existing shopping cart and transfer them into that monster of a thing which will give you a better work out than an hour long aerobics session. As I am transferring the kids and our "luggage" (i.e., diaper bag) into the "race car" I notice two men having a conversation close to us. Merrin was staring at them but I didn't pay much attention until as we start to wheel away Merrin outstretches her arm, points, and yells "JESUS" at the top of her lungs. I turn around and there stands a tall, slender man with long dark, wavy/curly hair and a long dark beard. I embarrassingly looked at the man and gave a nervous smile and then turned to Merrin and tried to explain to her that although the man looked like Jesus, he was not in fact Him.

It was the sweetest moment though, I couldn't help but continue to laugh throughout the store thinking how sweet the mind of a child is. They have such simple and pure thoughts and how easily we take their minds and what they can comprehend for granted. I have to say I was pretty pleased with the fact that our little two year old knows what Jesus looks like, or what we envision Jesus looking like anyway!

A Thousand Words

As the old Chinese proverb goes, a picture is worth a thousand words...man, those Chinese are smart!
